The question at issue

Are altcoins worth it against Bitcoin?

This page answers the question not with an opinion but with what was measured — and says what the measurement does not show.

The answer, as far as it is documented

For the large majority of the measured assets it was not worth it in the window from November 21, 2022 to October 6, 2025.

Of 33 measurable assets, exactly one was ahead of Bitcoin in the window from November 21, 2022 to October 6, 2025: XRP. Of the eleven measurable winners of the 2020/21 round, not one was ahead a second time. The median of this group – half of them were worse still – was 85.6 percent behind Bitcoin. Anyone who had simply held Bitcoin instead of these assets would be better off in 32 of 33 cases.

The reservation without which the figure is read wrong

Only assets that still existed at the end of the window were measured. Assets that disappeared are missing from the calculation. So the true rate is more likely lower than higher — not the other way round.

Measured over six years

August 1, 2020 to September 2, 2026: Bitcoin ended at 6.59 times its starting value. Of 35 measurable assets, 5 beat Bitcoin — 14.3 percent. Against Bitcoin, the median asset ended at 0.073 times its starting value — it lost about 93 percent against Bitcoin.

35 assets were measured, all of which survived the 2020/21 cycle. Anything that has disappeared since is on no list that can be retrieved today — all shares are therefore upper bounds. The closing figure is a live reading from September 2, 2026, not a daily close. The six individual windows are on the measurement page.

What this site is not

No investment advice, no price forecast, no buy or sell recommendation. Past measurements say nothing about future prices. From “it was not worth it” it does not follow that “it will not be worth it”, and from a rate nothing follows about a single asset.
