Which coins beat Bitcoin?
Every other crypto site counts in dollars. That makes a coin look good when it is up twenty
percent — while Bitcoin made forty in the same period.
Here every color and every figure is measured against Bitcoin.
Green does not mean “up”, green means “better than Bitcoin”.
57assets in the holdings — 129 assets in total, of which 117 assessed
1 of 33assets from the 2020/21 measurement was ahead of Bitcoin in the window from November 21, 2022 to October 6, 2025: XRP, which had been behind Bitcoin in 2020/21. No statement about all altcoins — these 33 assets were measured in this window.
12criteria per asset, each one documented
6assets that met the reporting threshold after a complete assessment
No investment advice, no price forecast, no buy or sell recommendation.
Where nothing was measured it says “not collected” — never “none”.
Green beats Bitcoin, red does not. The tile grows with the size of the asset.
The top right of each tile shows the test result, converted to a scale of one hundred. Point at it and everything else appears —
including an explanation of how the score comes about.
What almost everyone misremembers
“Everything took off in the last bull market anyway.”
Not true — at least not for those that try again next time around.
We took the 36 assets we had already measured for the 2020/21 cycle
– winners and losers of that round. Twelve of them were ahead of Bitcoin back then. What was
measured is what became of them in the window from November 21, 2022 to October 6, 2025:
33assets from the 2020/21 measurement that were also measurable in the cycle up to 2025
1of them was ahead of Bitcoin in the window from 2022 to 2025: XRP – and XRP had been behind Bitcoin in 2020/21
−85.6%the median of this group against Bitcoin
0assets broke out twice — the group is empty
Of the eleven measurable winners of the 2020/21 round, not one was ahead of Bitcoin a
second time in the window from 2022 to 2025. Whether that will be the case again in the next round, this measurement does not say. And why hardly anyone remembers it that way: every other site counts against the dollar.
In a bull market, however, everything is green against the dollar at the same time — including what fell behind
Bitcoin. Only the distance to Bitcoin shows whether a coin had demand of its own.
That is why on this site every color and every figure is measured against Bitcoin.
The reservation belongs with it: Only assets that still existed at the end of the window were measured. Ones that disappeared are missing from the calculation — the true rate is more likely lower than higher. See the whole counter-test →
Measurement 1 · The cycle comparison
How often does an altcoin really beat Bitcoin?
Of 33 measurable assets, exactly one was ahead of Bitcoin in the window from November 21, 2022 to October 6, 2025: XRP. Of the eleven measurable winners of the 2020/21 round, not one was ahead a second time.
The median of that group – half of them were worse still – was 85.6 percent
behind Bitcoin.

First run under version 4. 623 assets pulled, 185 through the hard filters, five assessed in depth. Highest score 60 out of 100 — the reporting threshold is 65.
60 / 100OriginTrail, best asset. Token requirement “yes”, 70% of volume on regulated exchanges
+51%OriginTrail against Bitcoin in the crash, but −16.5% in the recovery — defensive, the opposite of what is sought
+38.3%GEODNET expanded its circulating supply within twelve months and therefore fails the pre-filter outright
The run found a design flaw in the model: Civic scores 58 points even though the token-linked product was shut down in July 2025 — a dead offering does not grow and is cheap, which gives 34 out of 34 points from the first two criteria.

Ten out of ten passed the momentum test — because Bitcoin itself rose 13.9 percent in seven days. A criterion that everyone passes is not a criterion.
These are weekly reports from before October 3, 2026. Since then six assets have met the threshold, see below.
Measurement 2 · This site's track record
How often has this site been right so far?
Not better than the rest so far. The seven assets that were at the threshold at their
first assessment stand at a median of +5.4% against
Bitcoin — all assessed assets at +12.3%.
Seven assets, most of them five to six weeks old, ANKR only four
days: the chart shows the state of play, it does not prove anything yet.
The seven assets in the chart are those that were already at the threshold at their first
assessment. The six assets behind the button met the threshold after a complete
reassessment; only BAT, VeChain and Ankr appear in both.
Median: half of the assets are above it, half below.
A strong relationship between score and advantage over Bitcoin has not been demonstrated up to the measurement of October 10, 2026; a weak one shows up in one of three counting methods and does not survive the control for provenance.
State of the measurement: cut-off date October 9, 2026, seven assets at the
threshold, compared with all 133 assets assessed against the twelve criteria since August 26, 2026 – including those no longer on this site. Source: effectiveness measurement of score against
