VET — VeChain
Its own chain for enterprise applications.
Score and range

Earlier assessment: 62 of 89 under the old scale, 69.7 percent. Not comparable with today’s share.
Where this stands
Six assets reach the reporting threshold of at least 65 percent of the obtainable points after a complete assessment: iExec RLC 74.7 percent, Basic Attention Token 73.9 percent, OriginTrail 69.7 percent, Arweave 69.2 percent, Ankr 69.2 percent, VeChain 67.7 percent.
- iExec RLC and Basic Attention Token are closer together, at 0.8 percentage points, than the repeatability of the measurement (two to three points); their order says nothing.
- Collected: Basic Attention Token and Arweave on October 3, 2026, OriginTrail and Ankr on October 5, 2026, VeChain on October 7, 2026, iExec RLC on October 8, 2026.
- Older scores come from earlier assessments and are not comparable with the assets that have reached the threshold.
Collected on October 7, 2026, complete re-assessment of all twelve criteria.
What it is for
- Set out to
- Documenting supply chains and enterprise data tamper-proof.
- Today in addition
- VeBetterDAO, StarGate staking, EVM alignment, a marketplace for AI agents.
- Notable
- A two-token model in which VET is the asset held and the separate VTHO carries the fees.
- Strength
- Fees stay predictable for corporate customers.
- Weakness
- Several changes of theme without continuous usage.
Contract address
VeChainThor — its own chain, no contract.
The asset is the currency of its own chain and does not sit as a token on someone else’s. An empty field here would stand for a missing figure — but nothing is missing.

The four cycles
Measured on daily closing prices, never on daily highs or lows. The cycle boundaries are Bitcoin’s own highest and lowest daily closes: January 14, 2015, December 16, 2017, December 15, 2018, November 8, 2021, November 21, 2022, October 6, 2025 and the current low on June 30, 2026. A day counts only if at least ten thousand dollars were traded on it. The price against Bitcoin is given in satoshi — one satoshi is one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin.

The changes come from the assessment of October 7, 2026 and are not included in the color of the tile: all other assets are based there on the snapshot of August 28, 2026, and two bases in one color scale would not be comparable. Weights and thresholds will be reviewed together on December 8, 2026.
The twelve criteria one by one
| Criterion | Points | What was measured |
|---|
| Net supply and issuance pressure | 20 of 20 | Maximum supply 86.71 billion units, of which 85.99 billion are in circulation; 0.84 percent is still outstanding. The ongoing issuance takes place in the secondary token VTHO, which this criterion does not cover. |
| Starting valuation and size leverage | 6 of 14 | 712.61 million dollars |
| Survivability | 12 of 12 | 9.1 years since first listing (August 22, 2017) |
| Liquidity quality | 8 of 10 | Two-percent bid depth 315,776 dollars at seven venues |
| Displacement risk | 4 of 10 | Hedera is 5.9 times as large by valuation; against Ethereum (448 times) it would be 2 points |
| Regulatory classification | 6 of 8 | Four for listings at Coinbase and Kraken; two for the entry in Kraken’s MiCA list (the white paper itself and the ESMA register were not read); US proceedings not checkable |
| User growth per valuation | not determined (7) | No address series at the admitted source |
| Relative strength against Bitcoin | 2 of 6 | Seven days minus 3.93 percent against Bitcoin |
| External capital channel | 1 of 5 | An exchange-traded product is documented on the provider’s page (Valour Vechain SEK, 188,530 dollars of assets under management, 0.026 percent of the valuation); an inflow figure is missing |
| Volatility and lottery profile | 2 of 4 | The largest single day (September 8, 2026, plus 12.26 percent) carries 59.7 percent of the thirty-day movement in dollars (a borderline case); calculated against Bitcoin 94.6 percent and 1 point |
| Supply lock-up | 1 of 2 | 14.23 billion units staked, 16.6 percent of the circulating supply (explorer vechainstats.com, without a cut-off date) |
| Independence | 1 of 2 | The role of the token is in the protocol of its own chain; with the revision at the end of 2025, however, one role was removed (merely holding no longer generates VTHO), and who can change the staking contracts is not documented |
| Total | 63 of 93 | |
38 of the 63 points come from supply, size and age.
Exit depth: 315,776 dollars
The sum of the bids within two percent below the best bid, collected individually across seven trading venues and added up (October 7, 2026, 08:09 to 08:11 UTC). OKX does not carry the asset; Gemini not measured.
| Coinbase | 146,882 |
| Kraken | 44,183 |
| Bitget | 34,661 |
| KuCoin | 32,858 |
| Binance data mirror | 29,653 |
| Gate | 24,079 |
| MEXC | 3,460 |
| Total | 315,776 |
- Without the Binance data mirror 286,124 dollars remain. Almost half of the depth sits at a single venue.
- The depth is a snapshot and corresponds to 0.044 percent of the market capitalization.
Individual figures rounded; the total is calculated from the unrounded figures.
Reservations
- A two-token system: fees on the chain are paid in the secondary token VTHO, not in VET. Since the revision at the end of 2025 new VTHO arises only from staked VET. Demand for VET therefore depends on staking and not directly on usage.
- A figure on paid usage (fees, transactions, customers) could not be obtained.
- Daily turnover is 1.6 percent of the valuation. A fifth of it runs through the venue YUBIT, another 13 percent through Bullish; both carry the lowest confidence scores in the reference source’s list. Coinbase and Kraken together carry 5.1 percent.
- Ten times its value would be around 7.1 billion dollars of market capitalization; the asset is already at rank 80.
- Over the last seven days the asset was 3.9 percent behind Bitcoin, over thirty days 14.0 percent ahead of it.
What could not be collected
- active addresses as a series
- fees of the chain
- cut-off date of the staking figure
- rights over the staking contracts
- the MiCA white paper itself
- US proceedings (sources blocked)
- inflows of the exchange-traded product
- 49 of 117 trading pairs
Not collected means: not measured — not “zero” and not “does not exist”.
What belongs with this
A report is a work assignment, not a judgment about the asset.
A strong relationship between score and advantage over Bitcoin has not been demonstrated up to the measurement of October 10, 2026; a weak one shows up in one of three counting methods and does not survive the control for provenance.
No investment advice, no price forecast, no buy or sell recommendation.

Finding
Gas costs VTHO, not VET — and earning VTHO by holding was abolished
Investors and partners: No total amount disclosed. Backers: IOSG, Fenbushi, Draper Dragon, Breyer Capital, plus PwC and DNV GL as partners. In July 2025 a partnership with Franklin Templeton, BitGo and Keyrock — announced by VeChain, counter-confirmation by the partners not checked — awards no points, because projects with large backers did not perform better.
Nexo: Not found on the three public Nexo pages checked on September 1, 2026. That does not mean that Nexo does not carry the asset.
No investment advice, no price forecast, no buy or sell recommendation. A high score does not mean “will rise”. It means the asset scores better on these questions than the others.
