ZEC — Zcash

Digital money with which you can hide who sent how much to whom.

Reservation — disputed reason for exclusion

Zcash carries a hard exclusion ground from our rules: an all-time high within the first ninety days after first listing. The peak price of 5,941.80 dollars comes from October 29, 2016 — the day of the first listing itself.

That figure is not a daily close measured by us; none of our admissible sources reaches back to 2016.

The highest daily close that we can measure ourselves is the one of September 17, 2026 at 1,465.94 dollars. By the data we can measure, Zcash is therefore at its all-time high.

We carry this exclusion as disputed instead of carrying it out. The same filter has fired four times in three runs and in doing so discarded the only asset with a documented capital channel. The 2016 price comes from the first hours of trading of a network in which around twelve thousand coins existed at the time — a counter reading, not a market price.

The decision on this filter falls on December 8, 2026 and is open. Until then Zcash stands here with this note — and without it, not at all.

Where this stands

Zcash is not in the ranking of the reports in force: the exclusion ground of an all-time high is disputed, and the decision falls on December 8, 2026. The score of 65 out of 100 comes from September 17, 2026 under the old count and is not comparable with the shares of the assets reported since October 3, 2026, which reach at least 65 percent of the obtainable points.

Collected on September 17, 2026, complete first assessment of all twelve criteria.

Contract address

Zcash — its own chain, no contract.

The asset is the currency of its own chain and does not sit as a token on someone else’s. An empty field here would stand for a missing figure — but nothing is missing.

The four cycles

Measured on daily closing prices, never on daily highs or lows. The cycle boundaries are Bitcoin’s own highest and lowest daily closes: January 14, 2015, December 16, 2017, December 15, 2018, November 8, 2021, November 21, 2022, October 6, 2025 and the current low on June 30, 2026. A day counts only if at least ten thousand dollars were traded on it. The price against Bitcoin is given in satoshi — one satoshi is one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin.

Weights and thresholds will be reviewed together on December 8, 2026.

Four criteria fully exhausted: survivability, liquidity, sector position, relative strength.

Leaving the starting valuation out, 65 of 86 obtainable points remain, that is 75.6 percent.

Regulation — and its gaps

Tradable at all three regulated first-tier venues. Documented by the successful order book retrieval on September 17, 2026: Coinbase (ZEC-USD), Kraken (ZECUSD), Gemini (zecusd). Four points.

No MiCA entry can be found. Zero points. Kraken’s disclosure list carries around four hundred entries from A to Z, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana; Zcash is not among them. The substitute register micawatch.com reports 1,548 entries but cannot be searched without JavaScript. Not findable does not mean: not registered.

No ongoing US lawsuit. Two points — with the weakest evidence of the whole assessment. The US securities regulator’s investigation into the Zcash Foundation has been closed without action; that has been reported independently several times in the trade press, with the date January 14, 2026. Primary evidence was not possible, because sec.gov and courtlistener.com are both blocked. These two points rest on the press, not on a primary source.

Documented. Kraken Germany delisted Zcash on July 10, 2024.

Not confirmed. That the ban on anonymity-preserving crypto assets is not in MiCA but in the EU anti-money-laundering regulation 2024/1624, applying from July 10, 2027. The source eur-lex is blocked for our requests.

What could not be collected

Not collected means: not measured — not “zero” and not “does not exist”.

Finding

The finding is above: where this stands, the twelve criteria one by one, exit depth and regulation.

Investors and partners: not researched — awards no points, because projects with large backers did not perform better.

Nexo: Not found on the three public Nexo pages checked on September 1, 2026. That does not mean that Nexo does not carry the asset.

No investment advice, no price forecast, no buy or sell recommendation. A high score does not mean “will rise”. It means the asset scores better on these questions than the others.
